At least 10% of all children experience bullying during their school years, often on a regular basis. The effects can be devastating and long lasting when it comes to their self-image. Growing up with bullying, kids begin to have an incorrect view of what is acceptable in how they treat one another. In the worst cases scenarios, suicidal feelings - and actions - can develop. Many adults still suffer the effects of having been bullied long ago. If we look not just at the victim, but also the bully, with compassion, we gain insight and answers. When an atmosphere of acceptance and recognition is created for kids, they will take what they have learned into their adult lives, improving our world for the better.
